Campaign wizard
Creating a campaign uses a 6-step wizard. Each step focuses on a specific aspect of your campaign, and a live preview on the right side shows you exactly how supporters will see it. Navigate to Campaigns in the sidebar and click New Campaign to get started.Step 1: Basics
Set the foundation for your campaign.- Campaign name — an internal name to identify this campaign in your dashboard
- URL slug — the public URL path for your campaign (
backthevote.com/c/your-slug) - Submission types — toggle which formats you accept:
- Video — browser-based video recording
- Voice — audio-only recording
- Text — written endorsement form
Step 2: Questions
Add prompt questions that guide supporters on what to say. These appear as talking points on your campaign page.- Click Add Question to add a new prompt
- Reorder questions by dragging them
- Questions are optional for supporters — they serve as conversation starters
- “Why do you support this candidate?”
- “What issue matters most to your community?”
- “What would you say to a neighbor who’s undecided?”
Step 3: Branding
Customize the look and feel of your campaign page.- Logo — your organization or campaign logo
- Cover image — a hero image displayed at the top of the campaign page
- Brand color — choose from preset colors or enter a custom hex value
- Welcome message — introductory text shown to supporters before they record
Step 4: Settings
Configure how submissions are collected and managed.| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Recording time limit | Maximum length for video and voice recordings |
| AI moderation | Automatically screen submissions for inappropriate content |
| Contact info collection | Optionally collect name, email, and phone number |
| Terms acceptance | Require supporters to accept terms before submitting |
| Star rating | Enable an optional 1-5 star rating with submissions |
Step 5: Landing page (optional)
Build a custom landing page for your campaign using the built-in page editor (powered by Puck). This is a full drag-and-drop page builder that lets you create a richer experience around your endorsement collection. Skip this step if you’re happy with the default campaign page layout.Step 6: Share
Your campaign is ready to publish. This step provides:- Campaign link — copy and share directly
- QR code — download for print materials, events, or signage
- Social sharing — one-click sharing to SMS, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and email
You can always come back to edit any campaign from the Campaigns list by clicking on it.
