Editing an existing campaign

To edit a campaign after creation, go to Campaigns in the sidebar, click the campaign you want to modify, and adjust any settings. Changes take effect immediately for new submissions.

Recording settings

Time limits

Set a maximum recording duration for video and voice submissions. Shorter limits (30-60 seconds) tend to produce punchier, more shareable endorsements. Longer limits (2-5 minutes) give supporters room to tell their full story.

Submission types

Toggle video, voice, and text on or off at any time. Disabling a type hides it from the campaign page but does not affect previously collected submissions.

AI moderation

When enabled, AI moderation automatically screens incoming submissions for:
  • Inappropriate or offensive language
  • Off-topic content
  • Potential spam
Flagged submissions are marked for your review rather than auto-rejected, so you always have the final say.

Contact information

Configure which contact fields to display on the submission form:
  • Name — supporter’s full name
  • Email — email address
  • Phone — phone number
Each field can be set to required, optional, or hidden. Collected contact information is available in the submission detail view and can be used for follow-up.

Compliance and terms

Campaign terms

Require supporters to accept terms of service before submitting. Configure your terms text in Settings > Campaign Terms.

Landing page terms

If you use a custom landing page, separate terms can be configured in Settings > Landing Page Terms.
For political campaigns subject to FEC regulations, consult your compliance team when drafting terms language. Back the Vote provides the mechanism to display and capture consent, but the legal content is your responsibility.
